GDDPF president Guo Deqin and GDDPF rehabilitation leading member Guo Wei have had a inspection visit in Shenzhen October 10 to October 12, 2007. During the time the group has visited Shenzhen Party committee and Longgang, Bao'an, Nanshan district as well as Guangming new area.
The inspection group exchanged opinions with related leaders of Shenzhen municipal and district about the SZDPF working for the next session; listened to the reports on the creating "community-based rehabilitation demonstration zone for the disabled" and achieving the goal of "every disabled person has right of rehabilitation" at district; and had field visits on disabled multi-service center, rehabilitation center, vocational rehabilitation center, and disabled community service agencies of each level.
President Guo praised Shenzhen for its great achievement in the creation of "community-based rehabilitation demonstration zone for the disabled" and achieving the goal of "every disabled person has right of rehabilitation" with good and effective measures, particularly the comprehensive vocational rehabilitation center, which better solves the grassroots network of DPF rehabilitation services. It is of innovation and characteristics. Meanwhile each district DPF works at high starting point and faster promotion in the creating work, which promotes the service model from temporary relief to mechanisms change for the disabled. President Guo hoped Shenzhen will play more attention and speed up the construction of multi-service centers in municipal and district level for the disabled and further expands and improves services so to provide model, training and guidance for the community-based rehabilitation. Guo Wei, head of GDDPF rehabilitation also offered professional advice on planning rehabilitation agencies and introduction of rehabilitation projects and professionals.
