The second course for SZDPF (Shenzhen Disabled Persons' Federation) workers started July 23,2007 at Dameisha. About 300 SZDPF workers from grass-roots attended the course. SZDPF president Gao Jianwei and vice president Huang Chunbin attended the opening ceremony and gave important speeches.

SZDPF has planed to hold two courses for SZDPF grass-roots workers this year. And the first one with the theme of "every one enjoys rehabilitation" held in April 2007 has received a good name. And the second training is a continuation of the previous one. It contains practical subjects including basic knowledge with stress on law and protection on rights and interests, education and training, cultural and sports etc for the disabled. Taking the practical needs into account in grass-roots working, the course also includes basic knowledge of photography and lectures of "sunshine" psychological knowledge. After the two-day training, there will be a final exam.

Vice President Huang Chunbin has had a mobilization speech at the opening ceremony. He said: with the disabled persons' cause developing, disabled persons organizations, particularly the construction of grass-roots organizations has become important and important.

Vice President Huang said our first focus this year in construction of grass-roots organizations is to carry out "the construction standards for grass-roots organizations for the disabled". To achieve community-wide coverage of community members, we will try to arrange the second group of community members by the end of this year. And the second is to carry out the assessment standards of "Shenzhen management for community disabled working". To achieve the working target of “institutions are soundly standardized; working team are energetically stable and services are functionally perfect” made during the "11th Five-Year Plan" in advance and promote grass-roots working, we will assess the efforts of community working for the disabled by the end of this year.

President Huang required:the grassroots workers for disabled working should focus on theoretical knowledge with practice; should study and master services skills to improve operational capacity; and should enhance self-confidence so to be a competent worker in grassroots working.

President Gao Jianwei fully praised the grassroots disabled workers for their excellent work. She approved their active in the grassroots, timely reflecting the disabled persons' needs to the superior, sending the Party and the government concerns to the disabled and carrying out all related policies and specific measures for the disabled as well. The grassroots disabled workers are the Close Friends of the disabled.

President Gao expatiated on the current situation and the stress tasks for the disabled working. She hoped everyone will recognize and grasp the good situation. And so lead the disabled working to keep up with the pace of social development and work hard to build a harmonious society.

President Gao required the grassroots disabled workers to improve professional ethics and knowledge, improve overall quality and working responsibility, and then to be outstanding social workers. She hoped : through our united efforts, we will give a powerful impetus for the development of the disabled persons’ cause and offer the disabled better services!
